Box Score OLD WESTBURY, NY – Sophomore forward
Paige Lazar put away the rebound of her own shot off the goalkeeper with 5:52 left to lift Rutgers University-Newark to a 2-1 come-from-behind win over Old Westbury in Panther Park.
An own goal off of a deflected clearing pass in the 77th minute gave the Scarlet Raiders new life and knotted the score at 1-1 to set up Lazar's late heroics. Lazar collected her own shot off Panther senior goalkeeper Caitlin Thomas and put the game winner into an open net.
Old Westbury senior forward Stephanie Maybie sent a shot off the crossbar into the goal on a cross from sophomore midfielder Edania Martinez in the 28th minute.

Diana Aviles (3-0-0) needed just one first period save to notch the win as Rutgers-Newark piled up a 21-13 edge in shots and a 7-4 advantage in corner kicks.
Thomas made six of her 11 saves during the first 45 minutes to stake Old Westbury (3-2-1) to a 1-0 lead. The Raiders dominated play by out shooting the Panthers, 12-7, and taking four corner kicks to the host's two.
The victory snapped a 3-match non-winning streak for the Raiders who played without offensive standouts

Rutgers-Newark (4-2-1) hosts The College of New Jersey at 7:30 Friday night on Alumni Field as play begins in the New Jersey Athletic Conference.
