NEWARK, N.J. (September 29, 2015) – The Rutgers University-Newark men's soccer team continues to be ranked among national and conference leaders in a variety of metrics after a 1-1-0 week.
The Scarlet Raiders are 8-3-0 overall and 1-1-0 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC), recently having a seven-match winning streak snapped.
R-N is seventh nationally (third in the conference) in total assists with 26, and 11th (fourth in the conference) in total points with 84. The Raiders' 29 markers are 12th in the country (fourth in the conference), while the team's 2.36 assists per outing are 25th overall (fourth in the conference). Rutgers-Newark checks in 41st in points per game (7.64) and 50th in scoring offense (2.64).
Individually, junior
Sebastian Gostynski is ranked 14th in total assists with six, slotting in second in the NJAC. Rookie
Damjan Agaj is seventh in the conference and 63rd in the same category. Gostynski's two game-winners have him tied for 59th in the country.
Rutgers-Newark returns to action at home on Wednesday, hosting Ramapo College at 7:30 p.m. in a key NJAC showdown on Alumni Field.
