NEWARK, N.J. (October 14, 2016) –
The Rutgers University-Newark men's soccer team will host third-ranked Rowan University Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. in a matchup of the top-two teams in the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC).
 
The Scarlet Raiders boast an overall record of 14-2-0 and an NJAC mark of 5-1-0, while the Profs are 12-0-1 overall and 5-0-1 in the league. Rowan sits atop the NJAC standings with 16 points, and R-N is one point back with 15.

Let's Go Streaking! Rutgers-Newark has won its last eight matches dating back to a 3-0 win over John Jay on September 19. During that span, the Scarlet Raiders have outscored their opponents 23-1.
 
Let's Go Streaking 2! R-N has not allowed a goal against in six-straight matches dating back to its 8-0 blanking of St. Joe's – Long Island. The scoreless run has spanned over 596-plus minutes of soccer going all the way back to the first half of the Scarlet Raiders' 2-1 triumph over Kean University.
 
Let's Go Streaking 3! Rowan is unbeaten this season and finds itself ranked No. 3 in both the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) and the www.d3soccer.com national rankings. The Profs have not lost a regular-season conference match since October 14 of 2015.
 
Rutgers-Newark in the Stat Rankings: As a team, Rutgers-Newark can be found all over the latest national stat rankings released by the NCAA. R-N is 10th nationally in total points (122) and win-loss percentage (.875). The team's 44 goals are 11th in the country as is its .872 saves percentage. Newark cracks the top-25 in shutout percentage (No. 23; .56) and is top-30 in goals-against average (No. 28; .63) and scoring offense (No. 28; 2.75). The Scarlet Raiders also are No. 32 in points per game (7.63) and No. 37 in assists per game (2.12).
 
Scarlet Raiders in the Stat Rankings: Freshman Fabio De Sousa is currently No. 3 nationally and No. 1 in the conference with six game-winning goals, and his 27 points are currently 23rd in the country. He is No. 25 with seven assists, and his 10 goals are 35th. Freshman goalkeeper Andres Medina can be found amongst the nation's statistical elite as well, sitting 27th in saves percentage (.853) and 47th in goals-against average (.748).

Home Cookin': Rutgers-Newark is a sparkling 5-0-0 on Alumni Field this year.
