Women's Soccer on RAIDERVISION
NEWARK, N.J. (September 8, 2016) – Fresh off the first win of the 2016 season, the Rutgers University-Newark women's soccer team will host the Scarlet Raider Soccer Classic Saturday and Sunday on Alumni Field.
In addition to the host Raiders, three teams will be traveling to Newark for the action in Swarthmore College, Frostburg State University and Shenandoah University.

Saturday, September 10
Frostburg St. vs Rutgers-Newark – 1 p.m.
Swarthmore vs Shenandoah – 4 p.m.
Sunday, September 11
Swarthmore vs Frostburg St. – 1 p.m.
Shenandoah vs Rutgers-Newark – 4 p.m.
Rutgers-Newark will square off with Frostburg St. to open to tournament Saturday at 1 p.m., with Swarthmore and Shenandoah taking the pitch for the second match of the day at 4 p.m. Swarthmore and Frostburg will get Sunday's action started at 1 p.m. with R-N and Shenandoah meeting at 4 p.m. in the tournament finale.
Frostburg and Rutgers-Newark met in 2014 when the Scarlet Raider women last hosted the tournament on Alumni Field and the two teams tied 1-1. Now graduated

After dropping a pair of tough road matches to start the season, Rutgers-Newark bounced back Wednesday night with a 10-0 shutout of St. Joseph's College – Brooklyn on Alumni Field. Like the Scarlet Raiders, Frostburg bounced back from two season-opening losses with a 2-1 overtime victory over Washington & Jefferson Wednesday night.
Swarthmore will bring a flawless 3-0 mark to Newark this weekend, boasting wins over Rutgers University-Camden, Eastern University and the University of Scranton. The Garnet have yet to allow a goal this season. Shenandoah is undefeated at 3-0 as well, earning wins over Franklin & Marshall, Juniata and Hood. The Hornets – like Swarthmore – have yet to allow a goal against.
