NEWARK, N.J. (October 10, 2017) – After two wins last week and improving its record to a sparkling 14-1-0 overall and 5-0-0 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC), the Rutgers University-Newark men's soccer team finds itself inside the top-10 of both national polls once again.
The Scarlet Raiders jump two spots to No. 6 in the latest D3soccer.com ledger, while R-N moves up three slots to No. 10 in the latest United Soccer Coaches rankings.
Rutgers-Newark won a pair of matches last week on the road, topping non-conference foe FDU-Florham Wednesday, and then rolling to a 4-1 win over NJAC rival Stockton University Saturday behind five points from senior
Chigozie Atubi.
Calvin College tops both the D3soccer.com and USC poll with a perfect 12-0-0 record. Rowan University – who the Scarlet Raiders visit Saturday – checks in at No. 6 in the USC ledger and No. 14 in D3soccer.com. R-N's next matchup is Wednesday night in Newark against league rival Ramapo College at 7:30 p.m.
