UNION, N.J. (October 20, 2018) – The Rutgers University-Newark women's soccer team and Kean University played to a scoreless deadlock Saturday night in New Jersey Athletic Conference action at Kean.
The tie put the Scarlet Raiders' record at 6-8-3 and 2-5-1 in the NJAC. The Cougars' record moved to 4-7-5 overall and 2-3-3 in league play.
Kean had the better of the play, outshooting the Scarlet Raiders by a total of 34-11, but could not find the back of the net.
Newark's best chance to score came in the first overtime, however senior midfielder
Juliana Ceballos' shot went wide of the goal to preserve the draw.

Heidi Paulson had a stellar night, making 13 saves for the clean sheet. Mary Bystrycki made four saves in goal for the Cougars.
The Scarlet Raiders return to action Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m. on Senior Night at Frederick Douglass Field when they host NJCU in both sides' regular season finale.
