GALLOWAY, N.J. (September 22, 2018) – The Rutgers University-Newark women's soccer team suffered its second loss in a row against a tough Stockton University side on the road in New Jersey Athletic Conference action this afternoon, 4-1. The Scarlet Raiders move to 4-4-1 (0-2-0 NJAC) while the Ospreys improve to 5-1-3 (1-0-1 NJAC).
Although Stockton held the edge in both shots (10-4) and corners (4-1) in the first half, the teams remained scoreless for the better part of the period. Still, in the 40
th minute Salena LaDonne notched her third goal of the season to give the home side the lead.
Then, just 2:47 later, the Ospreys' doubled their advantage when Dasey DiElmo fed Katie Reed who converted her first score of 2018 to send her squad into the break, up 2-0.
Rutgers-Newark came out in the second stanza determined to make an early dent in the deficit. Only 2:17 into the half, a pair of sophomores combined to halve the home team's advantage.

Ana Silveira who made no mistake with her opportunity, tallying her sixth goal of the season to make it 2-1.
Unfortunately, under a minute later, Stockton struck right back with a marker by Kiersten Reszkowski off a pass from Michelle Sander that restored the two-score lead.
The Ospreys would tack on an insurance goal in the 57
th minute en route to their 4-1 win.

Heidi Paulson took the loss despite a big afternoon with nine saves while Stockton's Nicole Pallante made three stops to earn the victory.
