Once again the Cardinals would exploit the mismatch in height to push their lead to 10 with two minutes remaining in the opening quarter. Borja cut it down to single digits but a foul at the other end put the Cardinals' lead back to double digits with a pair of converted free-throws.
Dorian Capurso cut into the lead after a fast-break layup added two to their total. Wesleyan used suffocating defense to make life hard for the Scarlet Raiders in the first half which aided their lead.
In the second half, the Scarlet Raiders cut the lead down to 9 but were unable to regain the lead as the Cardinals surged their way to the win.
