New York, NY | The Scarlet Raiders men's tennis team took on non-conference opponents, Baruch College, this afternoon for their first match of the 2019 campaign. The Bearcats, who had four matches prior, came out on top with a 9-0 win over the Scarlet Raiders.
The match began with Sebastian Narath and
Alan Yu putting up a fight against Srivastava and Margolis on court one. Unfortunately for Narath and Yu they were toppled 8-6.
Vihang Patel and
Richard Nguyen were unable to overcome their opponents on court two as they would fall 8-4. Â Baruch would go on to sweep the doubles before continuing that trend over on the singles courts.Â
Yu would drop his bout on court two, 6-0, 6-3, while Shridhar Amin fell 6-1, 6-3 on the sixth court. The Bearcats proved to be too strong for the Scarlet Raiders in their first match of the season.Â
Up next for the Scarlet Raiders will be another City University of New York opponent, York College on Saturday, March 23 for their home opener at the Golden Dome Tennis Courts.
