NEWARK, N.J. | The Rutgers University-Newark Scarlet Raiders picked up their first win of the season on their home court this afternoon with a 6-3 win over Brooklyn College. The win boosts the Scarlet Raiders to 1-6 while the Bulldogs of Brooklyn College fell to 5-6.
Sebastian Narath and
Alan Yu teamed up to take down Justin Vasquez and Amadou Andre on court one, 8-2. Â
Vihang Patel and
Shridhar Amin doubled up their total with another 8-2 win in the three hole to send the Scarlet Raiders into singles with a 2-1 lead.Â
Veer Kachhiapatel went the distance on court three. Kachhiapatel took the first set 7-6 before falling 6-1 in set two. Kachhiapatel rallied in the third set to win 10-6.
Richard Nguyen picked up a win on court four, winning 6-3, 6-0 before both
Shadman Munshi and
Vihang Patel swept their opponents on five and six.Â
Rutgers University-Newark returns to action tomorrow afternoon in Mahwah, NJ where they will square off against Ramapo College at 12:00 p.m.Â
