NEWARK, N.J. | The Rutgers University-Newark men's tennis team took on their counterparts from South Jersey, Rutgers University-Camden, at the Golden Dome Tennis Courts. It was the Scarlet Raiders that came out victorious, 5-4, over the Scarlet Raptors. The Scarlet Raiders moved to 2-7 on the year while the Scarlet Raptors dropped to 1-8.
Rutgers University-Newark swept the doubles portion of the match with Viahng Patel and
Shridhar Amin winning by the largest margin, 8-2.
Sebastian Narath and
Alan Yu took care of business on court one by winning 8-3 before
Richard Nguyen and
Veer Kachhiapatel battled on court two to win, 8-5.Â
Rutgers University-Camden made a push in singles play, picking up four wins on courts 3-6. Narath and Yu gave the Scarlet Raiders the points they needed to secure the match and pick up their second win of the year.Â
The Scarlet Raiders return to their home court for their final home match of the season against Lehman College at 4:00 pm on Thursday, April 25.
