NEWARK, N.J. | The Scarlet Raiders women's tennis program looked to string wins together this afternoon at The Golden Dome Tennis Courts when they hosted New Jersey Athletic Conference foes, Stockton University. The early morning match saw the Ospreys win 9-0 and improve to 6-1, 2-1 overall while the Scarlet Raiders drop to 1-3, 1-2 overall.
The Scarlet Raiders opened the match with doubles and the duo of
Sophia Raza and
Sugandhi Yerram Reddy were the closest to earning a point for their squad. With court one and three garnering just one point combined, Yerram Reddy and Raza battled but ultimately fell, 8-3 on court two.
When it came to singles,
Nell Karpinski was the Scarlet Raider closest to picked up a point for her squad but she would fall 6-2, 6-4 to Elena Nunez in #1 singles.
The Scarlet Raiders will return to action on Thursday, September 26 where they will travel to Brooklyn, NY to take on Brooklyn College at 3:00 pm.
