BROOKLYN, N.Y. | The Scarlet Raiders women's tennis team won their second match of the season with a 6-3 win over non-conference opponents, Brooklyn College. Rutgers University-Newark improved to 2-3 overall while Brooklyn College dropped to 1-6.
The Scarlet Raiders opened up with a 2-1 lead after doubles.
Sophia Raza and
Emely Conza won their match on court two with an 8-3 win while
Sita Suwanetr and
Natalie Hernandez cruised past their opponents on court three, 8-1.Â
Sugandhi Yerram Reddy quickly disposed of her opponent on the second court, posting an 8-0 win. Raza handed the Scarlet Raiders another win on court three, defeating Alana Silberg 8-2.Â
Conza and Suwanetr would both win their singles matches on court four and court six by scores of 8-1 and 8-2, respectively.Â
Up next for the Scarlet Raiders is an NJAC bout against Kean University tomorrow afternoon in Union, NJ at 4:00 pm.
