Dul & Kellenberger Lift #RUNWSOC To First NJAC Win Of The Season

MAHWAH, NJ | Ava Dul and Bailey Kellenberger score to gift the Scarlet Raiders women's soccer team a crucial three points in the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) against Ramapo College. With the win, Rutgers-Newark moves to 7-2-1, 1-2-1 while Ramapo remains without a win at 0-8-1, 0-3-1.

Once again the women were the aggressors in the game, tallying 12 shots, putting 8 on frame, while holding the Roadrunners to just six shots. Corner kicks were split down the middle at five each.

Ramapo took the lead in the first half when Carla Goodwin snuck her shot past Katie McLaughlin in the 37th minute.  McLaughlin finished with two saves on the day as her defensive unit did well to limit shots.

Just three minutes later, the Scarlet Raiders struck back with a goal of their own. Kellenberger delivered a perfectly weighted pass into the box for Dul who was able to push it past Ramapo's keeper to knot the game up at one.

The Scarlet Raiders wouldn't settle with a draw on this day as Kellenberger delivered the game winning goal 17 minutes into the second half. Sabria Glasgow put her name on the scoresheet when she found Kellenberger for her team's second goal.

After taking the lead, the Scarlet Raiders tightened up to make sure Ramapo wouldn't level the game and they were able to do just that.

Rutgers-Newark returns to action on Wednesday, October 6 when they travel to Radnor, PA to take on Cabrini University at 7:00 pm.
