#RUNWVB End Season On High Note With 3-0 Win Over Maritime

NEWARK, NJ | The Rutgers University-Newark women's volleyball program ended their season on a high note this morning with a clean 3-0 (25-15, 25-15, 25-17) sweep of Maritime College.

In her final collegiate match, Meredith Moore led the team with 9 kills and a .500 hit percentage while Kaiel Maynor followed close behind with eight kills of her own. Rebekah Barnes assumed setting duties and collected 19 assists. Moore and Tracey Ilderis each added five service aces while Saniyiah Richardson picked up 10 digs.

In the opening set, the Scarlet Raiders trailed early on until they settled down and went on a 10-1 run to push them out to a 23-14 lead. During that run, Moore picked up three service aces. Maynor shut the door on any comeback attempt by the Privateers as she converted the pass from Ilderis to give her team a 1-0 lead in the match.

The Scarlet Raiders carried their momentum over to the second set and quickly jumped out to a 6-0 lead. Maritime tried to use a late 4-0 run to bring them back into the set, however, the Scarlet Raiders answered with one of their own. Julia Farkas gave Rutgers-Newark a 2-0 lead in the match when she found an opening in the court to seal the set.

Once again, the Scarlet Raiders jumped out to a lead in the early goings of the set. With Rutgers-Newark just three points from winning the match, Maritime went on a last-ditch 5-0 run to try to take the lead, however, Moore picked up a kill to return the service to her team. Moore, fittingly, ended the match with a kill to cap off the morning and her career.
