Men's Track & Field Take 6th At NJAC Championships

MAHWAH, NJ
| The Rutgers University-Newark men's outdoor track & field team took part in the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Championships today hosted by Ramapo College. 

Rendell Amilcar finished 19th in the 200m dash with a time of 24.12 while Jaheim Wimberly-Cole (20th, 25.58), Isaac Martinez (21st, 25.96), and Naser Tizhoosh (25th, 26.36) rounded out the race for the Scarlet Raiders. 

Cedric Augustin gave the Scarlet Raiders a top-10 finish in the 400m dash when he took 7th with a time of 52.00. Rendell Amilcar finished close behind, crossing in 8th with a time of 52.63. 

In the 800m run, Maninder Singh crossed the finish line in 2:05.77, good for 13th. Justin Lee also took part in the 800m run and took 25th with a time of 2:20.99. Singh was back in action again in the 1500m run and finished just outside the top-10 in 11th with a time of 4:20.18. 

Rutgers-Newark ran their way to a 6th-place finish in the 4x400m relay as the quad of Augustin, Rendell Amilcar, Rendys Amilcar, and Singh crossed in 3:34.75. 

Rendys Amilcar jumped his way to an 8th-place finish in the long jump with a distance of 5.89m. Augustin wasn't far behind in 10th with a distance of 5.76m. Rendys continued jumping in the triple jump where he recorded a jump of 13.06m, good for a 4th-place finish. 

Luiz Reis put the Scarlet Raiders in the top-10 with a toss of 12.18m in the shot put. Hunter Eldrige finished in 14th with a toss of 10.62m. 

In the discus, Timaul Williams finished in 3rd with a toss of 41.75m while Eldrige took 9th with a hurl of 33.15m. Dylan Woods-Tomczak (14th, 30.34m) and Sean Deuer (16th, 27.79m) also took part in the discus. 

Williams came back and finished 3rd in the hammer throw with a distance of 47.22m. Eldrige (13th, 27.78m), Deuer (14th, 26.14m), and Woods-Tomczak (16th, 21.47m) rounded out the hammer throw for the Scarlet Raiders. 

Deuer's day wasn't finished as he went over to participate in the javelin throw and picked up a 15th-place finish with a toss of 40.14m.
