Scarlet Raiders Add to Historic Run As They Complete Rout of Brooklyn College

BROOKLYN, NY | The Scarlet Raiders women's soccer team added to their historic unbeaten start to the season following a 9-0 win away at Brooklyn College. The win also marks the fifth straight game the Scarlet Raiders have kept their opponents off the scoresheet.

12 different players found their name on the score sheet this afternoon following a whopping 45 shots, 27 of which found the frame.

The Scarlet Raiders went into the second half with a 2-0 lead but came out flying in the second half, putting seven more goals past the Brooklyn keeper.

Sophomore, Bailey Kellenberger led the way for RUN, putting up two goals and adding one assist. Sabria Glasgow led the team with six shots while also adding two goals of her own. Freshman Goalkeeper Gillian Reese, along with the backline, held Brooklyn without a shot throughout the game. Ashley Gonzalez recorded her first collegiate goal tonight in the 80th minute while Leila Ettayebi, Abigail Mason, and Carina Afonso all earned their first collegiate point via an assist.

The historic run to start the season gives the women major momentum heading into the first NJAC matchup of the season, as they travel to Ewing, NJ to take on The College of New Jersey on Saturday, September 18 at 1:00pm.
