#RUNWBB's Strong First Half Unable Withstand Stockton's Offense on the Road

GALLOWAY, NJ | The Rutgers University-Newark women's basketball team was unable to shake their losing skid this afternoon as they dropped a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) contest to Stockton University, 62-46.

Rutgers-Newark (3-10, 1-8) shot 32.7% from the floor and were led by Samiyah Horton's 13 points while Syncere Lambert and Elisha India Cross added eight points each. Ebony Odom Barnes once again led the way for her team with 10 rebounds.

Nalya Hill led Stockton (6-9,4-5) with a 20 point, 15 rebound double-double off of the bench while Madison LaRosa added 11 of her own.

Much like the 2021-22 season, the Scarlet Raiders continued their trend of slow starts this afternoon with just eight points against the Ospreys. Stockton also struggled in the opening stanza, scoring just 9 points of their own.  In the second quarter, both teams continued to exchange blows until the final whistle of the first half as the Scarlet Raiders went into the half down just two points.

In the second half, the Scarlet Raiders were unable to keep up with Stockton as they fell behind by 7 before seeing their offense stall out in the fourth with just 9 points.
