Stiff Defense Carries #RUNMBB Past Rutgers-Camden

CAMDEN, NJ | Abe Kromah and Quincy Rutherford each tallied 18 points as Rutgers-Newark completed the season sweep against Rutgers-Camden, 67-33. 

Rutgers-Newark (13-6, 10-3) shot nearly 50% from the floor in a one-sided win over their counterparts in the south. Dante Ralph and Kelvin Marshall scored eight and five points, respectively. Rutgers-Newark kept their turnovers to a minimum with just 10 while forcing 18. 

Rutgers-Camden (1-15, 1-12) was led by Gavin Henry's eight points while Jaymes Savage led the team with four rebounds. 

The Scarlet Raiders took a 14-2 lead that spanned 10 minutes in the opening half of play. Rutgers-Camden brought it as close as seven, however, Kromah pushed it back to 10 with a layup and an and-one. The men kept the pressure on until the final whistle of the half to take a 31-18 lead into the locker room. 

From there, the men kept the pressure on and forced the Scarlet Raptors into low percentage shots. Rutgers-Newark held Rutgers-Camden to just 33 points, the lowest total the men have held any opponent this season.
