Men's Track & Field Shines at the Osprey Open

GALLOWAY, NJ | The Rutgers-Newark men's track and field team raced at the Osprey Open on Friday and Saturday.

Diego Gomes placed 4th in the 400m with a time of 52.26 and was followed by Cedric Augustin in 6th (52.51). Chris Williams took 18th in the 800m with a time of 2:10.09. Nicholas Branco finished 38th in the 100m dash when he recorded a time of 13.36.

Adam Abushanab was one of several Scarlet Raiders to secure a gold medal this morning. Abushanab took 1st in the 5000m run with a time of 15:33.04. Andrew Mark hopped on the trend and finished 1st in the 400m hurdles with a time of 56.66.

Zachariah Muyingo finished 1st in both the long jump (6.71m) and the high jump (1.84m). Continuing in the field, Timaul Williams grabbed first in the discus with a toss of 50.12m. Hunter Eldridge finished 8th in the same event with a throw of 35.32m. Sean Deuer took 5th in the hammer toss, recording a throw of 39.90m. Azor Chareyre-Ramirez finished 14th in the javelin with a distance of 30.22m.
