Ettayebi Nets a Brace in a 2-2 Draw With King's

WILKES-BARRE, PA | Leila Ettayebi netted a brace in a 2-2 draw with King's College on the road Wednesday night. 

Rutgers-Newark (3-3-1) tallied 9 shots as a team and put six on frame, while King's took eight shots with six on the frame as well. Ettayebi accounted for five of the Scarlet Raiders' 9 shots, two of which found the back of the net. 

The Scarlet Raiders found themselves behind early as Madison Jellema beat Jillian Jones in the 9th minute to take a 1-0 lead. Ettayebi leveled the match in the 26th minute with a goal from Seaone Oaxaca. Dana Nunez and Ettayebi tried to put their squad in front with two shots before the half but were knocked away by Ashlyn Crawford. 

Ettayebi briefly gave the Scarlet Raiders the lead out of the break, scoring her 11th goal of the season in the 58th minute off of a pass from Genesis Sarango. That lead was short-lived as Taryn Conover scored one minute late to bring the game back level. Jones came up with a save late in the game to keep King's off of the scoreboard to end the game in a 2-2 draw.
