KANSAS CITY, MO - Rutgers–Newark standout
Erick Cortes has been named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Region IV Second Team, adding to an already decorated collegiate career. The honor comes one year after Cortes earned All-Region IV First Team recognition, giving him back-to-back regional selections and cementing his status as one of the top forwards in the region.
Cortes put together a dominant 2025 campaign, finishing with 16 goals and 5 assists for 37 points. His scoring output ranked tied for 15th in the nation in goals and tied for 23rd nationally in total points. He also closed the year second in the NJAC in shots (80), shots on goal (42), and goals (16), as the driving force of the Scarlet Raider offense.
This latest All-Region honor reflects Cortes' continued rise as one of the premier attacking players in NCAA Division III, rewarding a season marked by prolific scoring and putting relentless pressure on opposing defenses.
