NEWARK, N.J. — Rutgers University–Newark dropped an NJAC women's basketball game to Stockton University, 88–35, Saturday afternoon inside The Golden Dome.
The Raiders struggled to find offensive rhythm against a strong Stockton attack and trailed throughout all four quarters. Stockton built a commanding lead early and never relinquished control as the visitors extended their advantage in each period.
Leading the Rutgers-Newark effort was Sanaa Brodie, who scored a team-high 17 points while also pulling in eight rebounds. Quanajah Felder and Nicole Timaori contributed seven points a piece for the Scarlet Raiders.
Rutgers-Newark finished the game shooting 22.4 percent from the field and 15.0 percent from behind the arc, while Stockton shot nearly 40 percent and outrebounded the Scarlet Raiders 71-36.
The Raiders will look to bounce back as NJAC action continues next week with a trip to William Paterson on Wednesday.
