MAHWAH, N.J. — Rutgers–Newark fell to Ramapo 64–53 on Wednesday night in NJAC action.
The Scarlet Raiders held an early 10–9 lead before the Roadrunners responded with an 18–5 run to seize control of the game and carried a 35–21 advantage into halftime.
In the second half, Rutgers–Newark outscored Ramapo, showing improved offensive rhythm and defensive pressure, but it wasn't enough to overcome the early deficit. Ramapo held on to secure the conference victory on their home floor.
For Rutgers–Newark, Raheem Murray led the way with 15 points, nine rebounds, and two steals, while Ayden Brown added 14 points. Both players knocked down three triples apiece, providing the Scarlet Raiders with their primary offensive spark.
The Scarlet Raiders return home on Saturday for their last home contest of the season as they host Rowan.
