HOLMDEL, N.J. — The Rutgers University-Newark men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Stevens Back to the Bowl Invitational on Saturday, with the Scarlet Raiders' women finishing sixth and the men placing seventh.
The Rutgers-Newark women were led by Daisy Lopez, who placed 28th with a time of 25:32.3. Jillian Joseph followed in 32nd at 26:17.7, while Justine Joseph placed 42nd in 30:31.1. Arianna Allen rounded out the Scarlet Raiders' scoring in 47th with a time of 33:05.8.
On the men's side, freshman Amin Ayaan led the Scarlet Raiders with a time of 18:58.9. Kyle Rolffot followed in 46th at 19:30.8 as Rutgers-Newark finished seventh as a team.
The Scarlet Raiders will return to action on September 26 at the Golden Eagle Invitational in Stony Brook, New York.
