PROFILE OF THE WEEK (Sept. 21, 2011)
NOTES: One of the most productive players in R-N women’s volleyball history… four-year starter who amassed 1,315.0 points, 952 kills, 237 service aces and 171 total blocks… hit .232 for her career with a 2.49 kill average… notched 81 solo blocks and 90 assisted blocks… averaged .62 aces per game.
SENIOR (2012): All-NJAC (first team)… R-N’s NJAIAW Woman of the Year… led Scarlet Raiders in virtually every statistical category to help team to a 15-13 record and its first ECAC Metro playoff berth in six seasons… NJAC Player of the Week (9/2)… Kings Point Invitational MVP… Bomber Invitational All-Tournament Team… led NJAC in points average (4.32)… second in NJAC in kills average (3.32) and third in service aces average (.68)… paced R-N in points (414.5), kills (319), hitting percentage (.265), aces (65) and total blocks (43)… second on squad with 18 solo blocks while posting a team-high 25 assisted blocks… averaged 1.99 digs per game… notched 16 double-digit kill matches… had 18 matches with multiple aces… started in every match and played in every game… registered a career high 22 kills with four aces, two solo blocks, nine digs and 28.5 points in a 3-2 loss to Rutgers-Camden (10/25)… piled up a career high 31.5 points on 21 kills, six aces, two solo blocks and five assisted blocks while collecting 10 digs in a 3-2 season opening victory over Merchant Marine (8/31)… came up with a career high 20 digs with 19 kills, five aces and an assisted block for 24.5 points in a 3-2 loss to Ramapo (9/13)… piled up 22.0 points with 19 kills, two aces and two assisted blocks while adding nine digs in a 3-1 win over Farmingdale State (9/1)… hit .652 with 16 kills and just one error in 23 swings in a 3-0 win over Staten Island (10/13).
JUNIOR (2011): Honorable Mention All-NJAC after leading the 8-19 Raiders in points (318), points average (3.39), hitting percentage (.234), kills (230), kills average (2.45), aces (64), aces average (.68) and all blocking categories (13 solos, 23 assisted, 36 total, .38 average)… had 14 double-digit point efforts and 11 double-figure kills outings… had 16 multiple-ace matches and seven contests in which she had more than one block… had career highs of 24.0 points and 18 kills to go along with six aces in a 3-0 win over New Jersey City (9/28/11)… piled up 18 kills with three aces, a solo block and two assisted blocks for 23.0 points in a 3-1 loss at Mount St. Mary (10/25/11)… roped a season-high eight aces and added 13 kills with just one error on 29 swings in a 3-1 win at Staten Island (10/15/11)… rang up a dozen kills, six aces, a solo block and three assisted blocks for 20.5 points in a 3-2 loss to William Paterson (9/22/11)… high a season-best 61.1% (12-1-18) with three aces and an assisted block in a 3-1 loss at Merchant Marine (9/6/11)… pounded down 10 kills without an error on 17 swings (58.8%) while adding four aces in a 3-0 victory at York NY (10/27/11)… capped season with two solo blocks, three assisted blocks, seven kills and three aces in a 3-0 win over Bard (10/29/11).
SOPHOMORE (2010): Honorable Mention All-NJAC after playing in every set for the 10-18 Raiders… paced R-N in virtually every scoring category… led team in points (354), points average (3.58), kills (242), kills average (2.44), hitting percentage (.271), aces (65), aces average (.66), solo blocks (34), assisted blocks (26), total blocks (60.0) and blocking average (.61)… tallied double-digit points in 21 matches while twice breaching the 20-point plateau… posted a dozen double-figure kill matches topped by a career-high 16-kill effort in a 3-2 loss to Ramapo (9/16)… had 11 kills without an error on 15 swings (.733) to go along with an ace and a solo block in a 3-0 win over Green Mountain (10/15)… roped a dozen aces while adding 10 kills and an assisted block to post 22.5 points in a 3-0 win over Purchase (9/18)… recorded a career-high 8 solo blocks plus an assisted block, 11 kills and three aces for 22.5 points in a 3-1 loss to Notre Dame MD (10/9)… had nine aces and nine kills in a 3-0 win over John Jay (9/7)… had at least one ace in 22 matches with 14 multiple-ace outings.
FRESHMAN (2009): Led R-N in virtually every offensive category while playing in all but three sets during 4-26 season... led Raiders in points (228), points average (2.43), kills (161), kills average (1.71), hitting percentage (.128), solo blocks (16), assisted blocks (16) and total blocks (32)... ranked second in aces (43) fourth in digs (97)... put together four consecutive double-digit kill efforts highlighted by career-highs of 13 kills and six aces in a 3-2 loss to Staten Island (10/3/09)... notched 10 kills with three aces and an assisted block in a 3-1 loss to Baruch (10/1/09)... posted a double-double with 10 kills, a personal best 13 digs, an ace and two solo blocks in a 3-1 win over Kean (10/6/09)... also had 10 kills, three aces and an assisted block in a 3-0 loss to Merchant Marine (10/8/09)... had nine kills and just one error while adding two aces and a solo block in a 3-1 loss to Rutgers-Camden (9/22/09)... finished season with nine kills and an ace in a 3-0 win over Bard (10/28/09)... totalled eight kills, two aces and a solo block in her first collegiate match, a 3-1 loss to Centenary (9/1/09)... collected 11.0 points with six kills, three aces, a solo block and two assisted blocks in a 3-0 loss to William Paterson (10/27/09).
HIGH SCHOOL: Lettered three times at Ridge HS under coach Joanne Milot... captained her senior team to a 14-9 record, earning player of the week honors in the Courier News.
PERSONAL: Cousin Meghan Witt played softball at Mary Washington College (2002-05)... daughter of Debra and Peter Witt... has two younger siblings, sister Lindsay and brother Jared... born in Denville... majoring in social work at R-N.
