JUNIOR (2016): All-NJAC Honorable Mention ...Competed in 24 games while starting 17 for the Scarlet Raiders who won a program-record 21 games on their way to the team's first-ever NCAA Division III Elite Eight berth ... recorded three points on a goal and an assist for the season ... took six shots on net ... found the back of the net during the squad's 4-0 victory against Mount Saint Mary. 

SOPHOMORE (2015): Played in 22 contests for Rutgers-Newark, helping the Scarlet Raiders to the 2015 ECAC Metro/Upstate title, a berth in the 2015 NJAC Tournament and a 16-win season ... was named the ECAC Metro/Upstate Tournament MVP after scoring twice, including the game-winner in the championship match against Manhattanville ... ended the year with seven points, three goals and one assist ... 2-of-3 tallies were game-winners (vs M'Ville & Centenary) ... all three goals came in the postseason ... NJAC Player of the Week on November 16.

FRESHMAN (2014): Saw action in 16 matches for the 16-6-0 Scarlet Raiders who finished second in the NJAC regular season (7-2-0) and posted the first NCAA D-III Championship victory in program history… put one of his five shots on goal.

HIGH SCHOOL: Second-team all-state performer at Belleville HS where he earned four letters… three time all-conference pick while twice earning second-team status on the Star Ledger’s All-Essex County squad for the Buccaneers.
 
PERSONAL: Plans to major in accounting… son of Lillian and Carlos Castro… has a younger sister (Brianna) and a younger brother (Sebastian).
