NOTES: R-N record-setter in the shot put in track & field who was named the NJAC Indoor Rookie of the Year after winning the conference shot put title at the conference championship meet… Coaches Award winner in women’s indoor track & field… academic sophomore in her first year of intercollegiate athletics… transfer from Bloomfield College in fall 2009.

PROFILE OF THE WEEK (Jan. 29, 2010)

FRESHMAN (2009): Ran in CTC Championships (10/17) to give Raiders a scoring team in the event.

SOPHOMORE (2010): Competed in four meets... was No. 2 Raider finisher at the NJAC Championships (10/30).

HIGH SCHOOL: Two-sport athlete at West Orange HS in track & field and volleyball… Northern Hills Conference champion in the shot put, heaving a conference record of 39 feet as a senior… two-year letterwinner in track & field who also took Northern Hills shot put title for the Mountaineers… three-year letterwinner in volleyball, earning Coaches Award and Blue Heart Award in her junior and senior seasons… Honor Roll student.

PERSONAL: Undecided on her major field of study at R-N… daughter of Donna Alston... born in Newark.
