SOPHOMORE (2021)
Alvarez took a big step forward in his second campaign with the Scarlet Raiders as he led the team with a .359 batting average while starting all 19 games... In his 64 at-bats he recorded 23 hits and scored 10 runs... Led the team with 14 RBI and eight doubles along with a team-high 10 walks... In the field, he also led the team with 157 catches and 143 put outs with 12 assists... He helped the Scarlet Raiders turn 13 double plays during the year...

FRESHMAN (2020)
Made six appearances with three starts in his freshman campaign... In his 10 at-bats he recorded three hits and two runs with four RBIs and seven total bases... 

PERSONAL
Alvarez chose Rutgers University-Newark to play baseball at a high level while earning a finance degree from a prestigious business school... Hobbies include Skiing, off roading, Jet skiing, quadding, and going on vacation with his family... His favorite good are cheeseburgers... Two and a Half Men is his favorite show, and Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith is his favorite film...
