Adam Tricarico returns to Rutgers-Newark for his first season of coaching as the Scarlet Raiders hitting coach while continuing to pursue his bachelor's degree in Business Management.
Tricarico began his collegiate baseball career at DI Canisius College where he earned a spot as their starting rightfielder. He was a member of Canisius' 2015 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) championship team. Still, after two years in Buffalo, NY, Tricarico decided to transfer back home to New Jersey and play for the Scarlet Raiders.
The Piscataway native was a key piece of the 2017 squad that made it to the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Championship Tournament for the first time since 2011. Then, in his senior season, Tricarico was named to the All-NJAC Second Team after an excellent year at the plate, slashing a fantastic .385/.483/.574 while starting all 32 games. He also led the team in hits (47), home runs (5), and RBI (35).Â
