Gerry Patrizio '16 returns to Rutgers-Newark for his first season on the coaching staff of the baseball team in 2019.
Patrizio was a four-year starter with the Scarlet Raiders from 2013-16 and was named a captain during his senior season. He graduated from R-N with a psychology major and criminal justice minor.
Patrizio is currently the head coach of the Freehold Clippers who play in the Atlantic Baseball Confederation Collegiate League (ABCCL), a summer league in New Jersey.
Patrizio was born in Staten Island, NY but grew up in Montgomery, NJ. He attended Montgomery High School where he was a three-year varsity starter. His team won a county title in 2010.
