Jake Campbell is in his second season as a member of the Rutgers University-Newark baseball coaching staff. He will serve as the primary pitching coach for the program while also pursuing a graduate degree from R-N.

A 4-year letterman on the pitching staff at Montclair State University as a mainstay in the bullpen, Campbell brings a keen eye for detail and a knowledge of technique to his duties of developing the young Rutgers-Newark staff.

The Sayreville, N.J., native logged 41 appearances for the Red Hawks, posting a 4.20 earned run average with a 5-5 record and five saves over 85-2/3 innings of work. He earned three starting assignments during his senior season when he served as a team captain.

Campbell was a 4-year letterman at Sayreville War Memorial High School, earning second team All-Middlesex County and first team All-White Division honors as a senior in 2009.

He received his bachelor of arts in physical education from Montclair State in 2014.

Campbell began his coaching career with the Full Count program in 2010 as a pitching instructor and last year was the head coach of the program’s 11-U squad. He led the Piscataway Middle School team to a 12-4 record in 2013
