Biography

HONORS: Honorable mention All-NJAC (2015), second-team NJCBA All-State selection (2015)

2016: Made 33 appearances as a junior, totaling 119 at-bats ... notched 27 hits, 19 RBI and 12 runs scored ... totaled 31 bases and worked nine walks ... had seven multi-hit games, including a 2-for-3, two RBI performance in a win over TCNJ on April 28 ... hit .250 in NJAC play, making 13 starts and driving in eight runs.

2015: Led Rutgers-Newark with a .342 batting average, .535 slugging percentage and five home runs as a sophomore ... had 39 hits, 10 for extra bases, drove in a team-high 30 runs and tallied six steals in seven tries ... had 12 games with multiple hits including three three-hit performances ... drove in multiple runs in six games including a five-RBI game against Muhlenberg on March 30 ... hit two round trippers on the team's trip to California in March and added one against John Jay, one against Muhlenberg and one more against New Jersey City University ... totaled 61 bases and hit safely in 21-of-30 starts, finishing second in the NJAC in home runs and seventh in slugging percentage.

2014: Started in 25 games behind the plate while appearing in 30 contests for the 13-24 Scarlet Raiders… caught a dozen runners attempting to steal while posting a .953 fielding percentage… hit .216 with 19 hits, six RBIs and 10 runs scored… doubled twice to up notch a .239 slugging percentage… drew three walks to post a .281 on-base norm… hit safely in 14 games with five multi-hit efforts… went two for five with three RBIs and a run scored in a 9-4 win over DeSales (4/2/14)… went two for three with a run scored in a 6-3 win over Kean (4/10/14)… went two for three with two runs scored and an RBI in a 7-5 win over Misericordia (4/22/14)… went two for five with an RBI in an 8-4 win at Baruch (3/27/14).

HIGH SCHOOL: Two-year letterman at Wayne Hills HS… earned first team All-Big North honors as a senior for the Patriots.

PERSONAL: Undecided on his major field of study at R-N… son of Laurie and Jake Cote… has a younger sister (Monique) and a younger brother (Jason).
