Biography

2017: All-NJAC Honorable Mention... Appeared in 36 games, starting 35, for a Scarlet Raider team that reached the NJAC Tournament for the first time since 2011... featured heavily for a strong R-N offense, tying for first with 11 doubles and sharing fifth place with 30 runs... tied for fifth with 24 RBI, generated a .411 on-base percentage and batted .293 while his 36 hits were good for sixth on the squad... racked up eight multi-hit performances... compiled a .969 fielding percentage.  

2016: Played in and started 37 games for Rutgers-Newark as a sophomore ... hit .264 on the back of 37 hits ... had 14 doubles, two triples and one homer with 27 RBI which led the team ... was third on the team with a .414 slugging percentage ... a primary catcher, Marks threw out an incredible 19 runners attempting to steal ... recorded multiple hits in eight games during the season ... had eight games with multiple RBI, including four against PSU-Abington on March 1.

2015: NJCBA All-Rookie Team... Played in and started 35 games for the Scarlet Raiders as their primary backstop as a freshman ... hit .269 with 39 knocks in 145 at-bats, adding 12 walks and three HBP's for an on-base percentage of .335 ... notched 15 RBI, five doubles, one triple and 22 runs scored ... cut down a ridiculous 20-of-39 potential base stealers ... picked up his first two hits March 13 at Redlands, going 2-for-2 with two runs scored and an RBI ... had 11 games with multiple hits and a 4-for-6 game at CMS with three RBI, two runs and a triple ... hit safely in 24 games.

HIGH SCHOOL: Two-sport athlete in baseball and swimming at South Plainfield HS…first team all-conference and all-division in baseball while earning a slot on the Courier News All-Area Team…led team with 37 hits, 32 runs and 22 RBI…hit .407…also belted two homers, six double and a triple… helped Tigers to a state sectional title game as a junior… senior squad went 20-8 and finished second in the Greater Middlesex Conference and lost in the county finals to St. Joseph’s Metuchen 1-0 in an extra-inning affair… earned two letters in swimming.
 
PERSONAL: Plans to major in accounting… son of Christine and Gary Marks… has a younger brother (Jared) and a younger sister (Cameron)… his mother played softball at Seton Hall University.
