Anthony Lorenzo is in his first season as a member of the Rutgers University-Newark men's basketball coaching staff in 2015-16. Lorenzo will assist in all aspects of the program.
A Piscataway, N.J. resident, Lorenzo spent last season as an assistant and recruiting coordinator at Centenary College, helping the Cyclone men to a 15-win season. He spearheaded all recruiting activities, setting up visits with prospective student-athletes, handling all major mailings and more. He was responsible for all video exchange, also breaking down film and preparing scouting reports for all opponents. Additionally, Lorenzo was the assistant director of the Centenary Boys Summer Skills Camps as well as varying clinics throughout the year.
Lorenzo was the student manager of the Rutgers Scarlet Knight women's basketball team from April of 2012 through May 2014, and he graduated from RU with a B.S. in Excercise Science and Sport Studies after earning Dean's List honors in 5-of-8 semesters.
Lorenzo works at Hoop Group in Neptune, N.J., working in a variety of areas including coaching camps and clinics, administrative responsibilities and evaluating players. He also coaches for Hoop Nation out of Bound Brook, N.J., working with their 16-year old AAU teams since August of 2013.
