Mike Larkin is in his second season as the men’s basketball graduate intern at Rutgers-Newark. He is the third graduate intern in the program’s history with his predecessors (Nick Leonardelli and Matt Adams) both now employed as full-time collegiate assistant coaches.

The Patchogue, NY, native came to The Golden Dome after a season as an assistant coach at Bard College.

As a junior and a senior at Albright College (2007-08, 2008-9), Larkin was a member of squads which posted back-to-back 17-9 records. The reserve guard earned the team’s Sportsmanship Award as a senior.

He was a Jacob Albright Scholar and a member of the Spanish Honor Society at Albright, earning a bachelor of arts in Spanish and a bachelor of science in math in 2009.

Larkin was a three-sport athlete at Patchogue-Medford High School on Long Island, earning two letters each in basketball, football and baseball. He was an Academic All-County pick as a senior in basketball. He graduated sixth in the class of 623, gaining membership in the National Honor Society and the Spanish Honor Society.
