Personal: Deon King Mingo Jr., an aspiring Criminal Justice major at Rutgers University-Newark, hails from West Orange and previously attended Newark Academy. Deon has a strong passion for filmmaking, reading, and watching movies. His favorite musician is Kendrick Lamar, and he looks up to the legendary athlete LeBron James. Deon's decision to attend Rutgers University-Newark was influenced by its strong sense of community and familiar atmosphere. Following in the footsteps of his father, Deon Mingo, who played basketball at Bloomfield College, Deon Jr. hopes to be remembered by his coaches and teammates for his positive attitude and willingness to lend a helping hand.
