PROFILE OF THE WEEK (Dec. 8, 2011)
JUNIOR (2011-12): Reserve swingman who saw action in 18 games for the 14-13 Raiders who earned NJAC and ECAC Metro playoff berths… averaged .8 points and 1.0 rebounds a game… connected on six of 12 field goals (50.0%) and three of four treys (75.0%) while totaling four assists… scored all of his points in two games… hit two of three treys and three of four field goals overall for eight points with two assists and three rebounds in an 86-47 win over Penn College (11/19/11)… hit all three of his field goal attempts (including a 3-pointer) for seven points in a 77-52 win over Moravian (12/5/11).
SOPHOMORE (2010-11): Played in eight games… grabbed three rebounds in 84-71 loss to Stevens (3/6/11) in the ECAC Metro Championship finals.
FRESHMAN (2009-10): Played in a dozen games for the 20-8 Raider team which earned the program’s first berth in the NCAA Tournament… totaled seven points, three rebounds and three steals in 34 minutes of action… knocked down a 3-point jumper to close out the scoring in a 98-71 win over Ramapo (1/27/10).
HIGH SCHOOL: Earned Most Outstanding Basketball Player award as a senior at Franklin HS under coach Joe Whalen... Honor Roll student and member of the National Honor Society.
PERSONAL: Undecided on major field of study at R-N, but is leaning toward the sciences... son of Esther and (Dr.) Sam Nwosu... has three sisters: Ijeoma, Oluchi and Uche.
