Biography
FRESHMAN (2011-12): Reserve guard who saw action in five games for the 14-13 Raiders who earned NJAC and ECAC Metro playoff berths… connected on 11 of 19 (57.9%) shots from the floor… made five of eight (62.5%) free throws… averaged 5.6 points per game while totaling five assists, three rebounds and a steal… closed the season with a 17-point explosion in the Raiders’ 93-80 loss to Brooklyn College (2/29/12) in the ECAC Metro playoffs… posted seven points with an assist and a steal in a 62-52 win over CCNY (1/4/12)… hit both of his field goal tries while adding three assists and a rebound in his first action in an 86-47 win over Penn College (11/19/11).
HIGH SCHOOL: Three-year letterman at Timber Creek HS earning most improved, sixth man and most valuable player notice… helped Chargers to a cumulative record of 46-26… team went 16-8 in his junior year and won an Olympic Conference crown… Chargers were 18-6 in his senior season, taking a South Jersey Group 3 title.
PERSONAL: Plans to pursue an education degree and become a teacher… chose R-N because “it offered both the academic and athletic values that fit me best”… loves being in the urban environment of the Newark campus… son of April Bey and Shane Demby… has a younger brother (Malik)… nickname is Kellz.
