Ayala appeared in 29 games and started three, accumulating 392 minutes of action... He averaged 2.4 points, 0.9 rebounds, and 13.5 minutes per game... He scored a career-high eight points five times last season and in the ECAC Championship game, he tallied two points in 13 minutes and added a pair of steals...

Ayala chose Rutgers University-Newark because it was the best fit for him while still being close to home... he was a 2x Honorable Mention Essex County and first team All-Union County... His hobbies include cutting hair and buying shoes... His favorites are Avengers: End Game and Rajon Rondo... His father, Manny, played soccer and basketball in college...
