    Assistant Coach

The 2006 New Jersey Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year while playing for Kevin East at New Jersey City University, Anthony Flores becomes an assistant coach this season after a two-year stint as the Rutgers-Newark Graduate Intern. He completed work on a master’s degree in liberal studies last spring.

The young mentor has a keen eye for detail and the ability to relate to members of East’s very young team.

A first-team D3Kicks.com All-American as well as an all-regional and All-NJAC honoree as a senior, Flores was a two-sport all-star at Hillsborough High School. He earned third-team all-state honors as well as first-team all-conference and all-county native in soccer as a senior. In track & field, he was an all-American, all-state, all-county and all-conference hurdler, competing in both the 400-meters and the 110-meter high hurdles.

He received a bachelor of arts in journalism from New Jersey City in 2007.

Flores completed work for his NJ “E” License in last March as he begins to sharpen his instructional skills for the future.
