Carlos Suarez

  • Title
    Graduate Assistant Coach
Carlos Suarez joins the Rutgers-Newark men’s soccer program as a graduate intern after an outstanding career as a goalkeeper at St. Peter’s University.

Born and raised in Santa Cruz, Suarez played for the Bolivian National U17 squad which led to his attendance at national high school powerhouse St. Benedict’s Prep in Newark where he lettered twice.

He led NCAA Division I St. Peter’s to a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) championship in 2010, allowing just two goals in a pair of tournament wins.  The four-year letterwinner was named to the All-MAAC second team in 2010 before a shoulder injury hampered the rest of his career.

He completed his bachelor of science in international business in 2013 and added an MBA from the Jersey City school last spring.  He is pursuing a master of public administration (MPA) degree in the School of Public Affairs & Administration.
