Born in Santiago Chile Julio grew up playing soccer. Lobos was educated at Club Deportivo Universidad de Chile. It was there that he learned the theoretical and practice activities aimed at improving the educational process of sports. As a professional goalkeeper for Universidad de Chile, he participated in many soccer tournaments throughout Europe and Australia.
As a member of Chile’s National Team, he was a goalkeeper in the Pan-American Games in Caracas, Venezuela in 1983 and in 1987 Julio signed a professional contract to play the Granville Soccer Club in Sydney, Australia. In 1989 he was selected as Australia’s Player of the Year.
From 1994-2011, Julio has participated in various soccer tournaments in NY and NJ. He also has run goalkeeper clinics in Elizabeth, NJ. and is currently the Goalkeeper coach for Rutgers University.
Julio and his wife Patricia live in Laurence Harbor NJ.
