2025: Played in 91 sets over the course of 26 matches…Amassed 262 digs for an average of 2.65 per set…Had a season-high 19 digs in a 3-2 victory over Virginia Wesleyan…Provided 57 total assists. 

2024: Played in 91 sets over the course of 26 matches…Collected 198 digs for an average of 2.18 per set…Provided 34 total assists.

Prior to Rutgers-Newark: Played 208 sets in 59 matches over the course of three seasons for Eastern Nazarene College...Tallied 85 assists and seven kills during his time there.

Personal: Psychology major Fernando Paredes, hailing from Passaic, NJ, lends his skills to the Men's Volleyball team at Rutgers University-Newark as a Libero. Standing at 5'6, Fernando brings a competitive spirit and dedication to the court. Outside of volleyball, he enjoys tumbling and has a penchant for the movie "Scream," dishes cooked by his mom, actress Drew Barrymore, and athlete Erik Shoji. Choosing Rutgers-Newark for its academic excellence and competitive atmosphere, Fernando aims to be remembered for his unwavering work ethic. His father, Deybi Paredes, played basketball in college. Fernando is affiliated with the Garden State Elite club team.
