Biography

NOTES: Two-time NJAC Goalkeeper of the Year (2012 & 2014) who has already set Rutgers-Newark record for shutouts in a career with 18… going into his senior season, has posted second lowest career goal against average (1.19) in Scarlet Raider history while ranking third in career saves with 259.
 
JUNIOR (2014): NJAC Goalkeeper of the Year, first team All-NJAC and second team NSCAA All-South Atlantic Region goalkeeper for the 16-6-0 Scarlet Raiders who finished second in the NJAC regular season (7-2-0) and posted the first NCAA D-III Championship victory in program history… second team NSCAA College Division Scholar All-East Region... NJAC Defensive Player of the Week (19/12/14)… posted fourth lowest goals against average for a season in Raider history (1.18)… recorded five complete-match shutouts… rang up a record of 15-6-0 with 63 saves… also played in two other team shutouts by the Raiders before giving way to reserves… made four saves to register a shutout in historic 2-0 win over host Babson (11/15/14) in the opening round of the NCAA playoffs…  had three saves in a 3-0 shutout of Ramapo (10/1/14)… registered three saves in a 4-0 win over Stockton (10/10/14)… needed just one save in a 1-0 shutout of TCNJ (9/19/14)… made one save in a 3-0 shutout of Manhattanville (9/17/14)… collected a season-high nine saves in a double-overtime, 3-2 loss to Kean (10/18/14)… made four saves in a double-overtime, 2-1 win over William Paterson (10/15/14)… posted four saves in a 2-1 win at Merchant Marine (9/3/14)… made four saves in a 4-1 victory over Scranton (9/6/14).

SOPHOMORE (2013):  Honorable Mention All-NJAC goalkeeper for Scarlet Raider team which finished 17-6-1, reached the NJAC Championship match for the first time in program history and earned the program’s first NCAA Championship at-large berth… twice named NJAC Defensive Player of the Week… played all but 8:31 of the season between the pipes with five shutouts… posted a 1.30 goals against average by allowing just 32 markers against 103 saves… notched NJAC shutout victories against Ramapo (9/28/13), New Jersey City (10/16/13) and Rowan (10/19/13)…  posted back-to-back shutouts against Hunter (9/7/13) and DeSales (9/8/13) to help team claim the Scarlet Raider Soccer Classic title… shared a 7-0 shutout win over Staten Island (9/14/13)… made a season-high nine saves in a 4-1 win over William Paterson (11/2/13) in the NJAC tournament opening round… made four saves in a 1-1 double-overtime tie with Kean (10/12/13)… notched five saves in a 2-1 double-overtime win over TCNJ (10/5/13)… stopped six shots in a 2-1 overtime victory over SUNY Potsdam (8/31/13)… made eight saves in a 3-2 win over William Paterson (10/26/13).

FRESHMAN (2012): NJAC Goalkeeper of the Year and All-NJAC (first team) R-N Male Rookie Athlete of the Year… posted a record of 11-8-1 with eight shutouts for the 18-4-1 Scarlet Raiders who earned NJAC and ECAC Metro Championship playoff berths… posted second lowest goals against average in R-N history, yielding just 22 goals in 1851 minutes for a 1.07 average… allowed more than two goals in a match just twice… named NJAC Rookie of the Week twice… tabbed NJAC and ECAC Metro Defensive Player of the Week (9/15)... four of his shutouts came against NJAC opponents… in his first career NJAC match, made nine saves to blank No. 6 and previously unbeaten Rutgers-Camden (9/15) in a 1-0 Raider upset… made a season-high 10 saves in a 1-0 win over Rowan (10/13)… shut out Kean (10/27) for nearly 97 minutes, making three saves, in a 1-0 overtime victory in the opening round of the NJAC tournament… made five saves in a 1-0 victory over TCNJ (9/29)… opened his career with a three-save shutout of Widener (8/31) in a 2-0 Raider win… allowed just one goal in the final 57 minutes as Raiders rallied for a 5-4 overtime victory over New Jersey City (10/10)… made three saves as Raiders tied Staten Island (11/8), 1-1, in 110 minutes of play before falling in a shootout in the opening round of the ECAC Metro Championship playoffs… blanked FDU-Florham (10/3) with six saves in a 2-0 win… had two saves in a 6-0 shutout win over St. Joseph’s LI (9/12)… shutout Hunter (9/9) in a 4-0 win in the championship match of the Scarlet Raider Soccer Classic.

HIGH SCHOOL: Two-sport athlete in soccer and lacrosse at Mainland Regional HS… three-year starter as soccer goalkeeper for the Mustangs… earned All-Cape Atlantic League honors as a junior and senior… also lettered three times in lacrosse… earned Principal’s Award for unique contributions and leadership.

PERSONAL: Majoring in psychology… son of Karen and Skip Broomall… has an older sister (Lauren) and a younger brother (Steven).
