Rutgers-Newark Athletics

FRESHMAN (2013): Started in seven matches while appearing in 24 for the 4-21 Scarlet Raiders… second on the squad in assists (308) and assists per game (4.67)… totaled 25.5 points, 17 kills, 83 digs and five blocks (two solos, three assists).

HIGH SCHOOL: Three-time all-star and senior all-alliance choice who helped Colegio San Jose to three Puerto Rico High School Athletic Association crowns and a runner-up finish under coach Ricardo Rodriguez… four-year letterwinner who played on squads which posted a cumulative record of 61-12 from 2009 to 2012… sophomore year, Conquistadors went 16-2 and finished second in the national high school playoffs… junior team went 17-3 and placed third in the national playoffs... four-sport athlete who also competed in tennis, indoor soccer and golf.

CLUB: Has played for two seasons with the E3 club, earning all-star status while helping squad to a third place finish in the 2012 Puerto Rico Junior Nationals under coach Ossie Antonetti.

PERSONAL: Plans to major in biology at R-N… son of Carmen Suarez and Silvio Lopez… has a younger sister (Claudia), an older sister (Gabriela) and an older brother (Silvio)… born in Guaynabo… played against R-N classmate Jose Cerame for two seasons in high school and with him as a member of the E3 club team in 2012.
