Michael Bagnell has an impressive background in volleyball, serving as a volunteer assistant coach for the Rutgers Newark Men's volleyball team during the 2022-2023 season before being appointed as an assistant coach for the 2023-2024 season. With a robust history in club volleyball coaching, he has coached teams at the 15s, 16s, 17s, and 18s age levels for Warren Sixpack, guiding these teams to compete at the annual junior national tournament.

His own playing career includes high school volleyball at Christian Brothers Academy, where he earned the prestigious title of 1st team all-state in 2012 and led the state in aces during the same year. Transitioning to collegiate play, Michael played Division I volleyball at Princeton University. There, he took on the role of libero, served as team captain in 2016, led the team in digs during that year, and received the honor of being named First Team Academic All-EIVA in 2016. With his wealth of experience both on and off the court, Michael Bagnell brings valuable expertise to the Rutgers Newark Men's volleyball program.
