2015: Led the CVC and was third in the nation in assists per set (10.44) ... dished out 1,044 assists in 100 sets played ... played in 30 matches, making 25 starts ... led team and was sixth in the conference in service aces with 32 ... set the Scarlet Raiders to a hitting percentage of .279 as a team which was second in the CVC and eighth in the nation ... set R-N to 12.35 kills per set which was ninth nationally and second in the conference ... had 22 matches with 30-plus assists, dishing out 53 in a win over Juniata on April 1, 50 at Marymount on April 4, a season-high 62 vs Stevenson on March 27, 52 against Baruch on February 28 and 53 against Thiel on February 14 ... was second on the team with 154 digs (1.54 per set), totaling just two receiving errors ... fourth on the Scarlet Raiders with 50 total blocks.

2014: Started in every match for the 9-17 Raiders as the primary setter… led team in assists with 774 (8.70 per game) and digs with 144 (1.62 per game) while totaling 11 aces, 26 blocks and 24 kills in 89 games… posted 30 or assists in a match 10 times while reaching double digits in digs on three occasions… tallied seven solo blocks and 29 blocking assists… notched a season-high 52 assists with eight digs and a kill in a 3-1 win over NJIT (4/2/14)… piled up 51 assists with 13 digs in a 3-2 loss to Scared Heart (4/9/14)… distributed 45 assists with eight digs, two aces, a solo block and an blocking assist in a 3-2 win over Belmont Abbey (3/21/14)… posted a double-double with 45 assists and 11 digs plus two kills and three blocking assists in a 3-1 win over Vassar (4/5/14)… got in on eight blocks (one solo, eight assists) while adding 28 assists, seven digs and an ace in a 3-2 win over NYU (3/15/14)… had a season-high four kills in a 3-1 loss to St. Francis (4/17/14).

2013: Started in 19 matches as the setter for the 4-21 Scarlet Raiders… led team in assists (427), assists average (6.67), service aces (14) and aces average (.22)… had three matches with over 30 assists topped by a distributing 55 in a 3-2 loss to Sage (3/30/13) when he added a season-high three aces… totaled 20 kills, 57 digs and 18 blocks in 24 matches… opened his career with 43 assists, an ace and seven digs in a 3-2 win over Kean (1/25/13)… tallied 31 assists with an ace and six digs in a 3-0 win over Cairn (1/26/13)… notched four kills on seven swings without an error and added an ace in a 3-0 win over Lesley (3/29/13).

HIGH SCHOOL: National Honor Society student at Heritage HS where no varsity boys’ volleyball was offered… AP Scholar while earning AP awards in social studies and German plus outstanding chemistry student award.

CLUB: Has helped the Northern Virginia Volleyball Association to four consecutive regional championships and six Junior National s appearances under coaches Romonzo Beans, David McCandless and Melvin Kinnebrew… has developed in the NVVA for six seasons… all-region team (2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012).

PERSONAL: Plans to major in computer science at R-N… son of Diane and David McCandless… has two sisters (Melissa and Megan)… sister Melissa played at volleyball at the Fashion Institute of Technology in 2009 and 2010… born in Reston, VA... travelled to Brazil during the summer of 2014 as part of an NCAA D-III all-star squad.
