Michael DeWan was named an assistant coach on the Rutgers-Newark women’s soccer team in September of 2008.
The Mahwah native began his coaching career at Science High School where he served as an associate head coach from August, 2005, to April, 2007. He has also served as a trainer for various clubs since 1998.
DeWan, a four-year letterwinner at Kean as a goalkeeper and midfielder, was a senior member of the Mahwah High School boys' team for four years, serving as captain while also earning player of the year honors in 2000. A well-rounded athlete, he was also a four-year letterwinner and captain for Mahwah’s basketball team, while also earning three letters in baseball and one in track.
DeWan, who works for Liberty Travel, is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business from William Paterson after transferring from Kean.
