Dan Kim

Dan Kim was named an assistant coach with the Rutgers University-Newark women's volleyball program in February of 2018. Kim will serve as the program's Recruiting Director.

Kim started his volleyball career as a student-athlete at Livingston HS in 2001-2005. In the early stages of NJ Boys Volleyball, Kim’s team was able to have much success on the court at a championship level. He capped off his high school career by winning the inaugural county championship and earning All-Conference and All-County accolades.

He started coaching boys volleyball at Livingston HS, under his coaching mentor; Al Partelow in 2011. Since then, he has been an assistant coach until his head coach’s retirement in 2016. Kim took over the Livingston HS program for both the boys and girls program in 2017. Since joining the Coaching Staff in 2011, Livingston HS Boys Volleyball has won: 1 NJSIAA North, 2 State Sectional Championship, 6 ECADA County Tournament Championships, and 5 SEC-American Conference Championships.

As a head coach with over 10 years of coaching experience, Livingston has won back-to-back County Titles (2017 & 2018) for the boys program. Kim is the only person in Essex County to win an ECADA County Tournament title as both a player and head coach. His priority is to
maintain a Championship standard at Livingston HS, but to also continue to grow the game at a state level. Livingston HS serves as the state location for both Boys and Girls Senior All-Star Game, as well as the annual NJSCA Coaches Clinic.

Kim has certifications in the following: Gold Medal Squared Coaches Clinic and USA Volleyball CAP I. Outside of Livingston High School and Rutgers-Newark Women's Volleyball, he serves as a Coaches Mentor for the AVCA to other High School and NCAA Division III coaches. Kim also is one of the top recruiters for the Scarlet Raiders women's volleyball program, helping them compete for a title every season.Â
